Background : 

Presently using S9KEAZ128AMLH MCU and TLE7181EM motor driver with inbuilt shunt amplifier circuit.

The output of the shunt amplifier will provide a pulse signal.  Its (from MCU to Motor driver).

Present configuration:-

FTM                                  :  Center-alignment 

Motor PWM frequency   :  20KHz

ADC                                 :  Hardware Init trigger

 

Query:-

The output of the ADC (Shunt amplifier output signal) needs to be captured in PWM ON condition with trigger mode.  The captured ADC value is not getting stable and it is fluctuating.  FTM and ADC are not able to synchronize. Refer to the attached images for shunt amplifier output signal respective PWM signal.

Kindly check and provide your support on FTM & ADC signal capturing synchronization.

Observing the waveform provided we understand that the current waveform has to be sampled at the falling edge of the PWM signal. In the case of XMC processors from Infineon (Used for industrial-grade applications), we can sample the signal at the falling edge of the PWM using high-precision ADC.
In general, this value will be fluctuating and we may need to average the value over a period of time to get the exact current measured.
We request you to please contact the NXP team with regards to the ADC configuration for sampling mechanism details. If the project is at a nascent stage we propose to use one of our XMC processors.
