Hey!

We have generated PWM pulses from the PWM outputs of IMC302AF064XUMA1 microcontroller using MCE designer software.

I have uploaded the waveforms of the PWM signals and also the parameter file that was uploaded to MCE designer software. Please check and let me know if the pulses are fine.

Hello @cw2611 ,

IMC302A is a proven solution, and is bound to generate PWM pulses without any abnormality in the basic properties of the PWM output.  In that aspect, the pulses generated look okay irrespective of the input condition provided to the IC.

Having said that, we would be very happy to assist you with the design and configuration of the system with the IMC302. Kindly let us know in case of any further query by posting again on the Infineon Community.

Best Regards,
Sai

Hello @cw2611 ,

A few clarifications needed

1. Can you please let me know if you have generated these pulses by having only the EVAL-M3-IMC302F board or by having a combination of the EVAL-M3-IMC302F and EVAL-M3-CM615PN boards.

2. I can see that the parameter file has been configured for a hall sensor based closed loop speed control, with leg shunt current measurement, and there is no script written as such. How were the feedbacks given.

3. Pulses look to have normal values of high and low levels,, and also a switching frequency of 10kHz matching the set value to say the least, but under what input conditions were they generated.

4. What is the observed dead time between the high and low switch pulses of any inverter leg ?

Best Regards,
Sai

Hey @psb !

1. We have designed a development board using IMC302AF064XUMA1 microcontroller.

2. The feedback was given using hall effect sensor.

3. These waveforms were recorded from the microcontroller pins without interfacing the gate driver.

4. Dead time observed was 1us.

Thanks @psb !

We made few changes to the configuration and observed the waveforms at the controller pins. We could observe too much noise at PWM pins even with the drive stopped. I have attached the parameter file and the waveforms of the trial when the drive was stopped and also when it was started. Please check provide a solution.

Hello @cw2611 ,

The noise at the pins is due to the hardware parasitic components/traces present on the PCB the chip is placed on.

Kindly check for the same at your end.

In case you would want assistance on that which we would be very glad to, kindly create a new thread on this topic, so that it can be viewed by other users on the community also who have similar queries.

Sai
