Hello,
We need solution as well as list of driver IC part number to drive AC servo motor.
We are developing a pump for a bio-pharma process, and it will be used in chromatography, tangential flow filtration etc.
We had a few queries on this-
1) For your evaluation board what is the generally recommended AC servo motor that can be used (please share us a reference part number)
2) Availability of the driver IC, price for 5 units, quote (MoQ = 5k/annum) & link to purchase
3) Availability of the eval board, price for 5 units, quote (MoQ = 5k/annum) & link to purchase
4) Possibility of free samples for the driver IC & evaluation board
5) Firmware user manual
6) Any case studies on the use of the IC
7) Can the IC be driven using a MCU?
😎 Any EoL or obsolescence plan for the product?
9) Lead time for evaluation board & driver IC, if any
10) Presence of an eval board for this driver IC with MCU instead of MPU
Certain other details about our project –
1) Client = Based out of USA, at the moment we can’t disclose the name due to NA of NDA but in case the product suggested by you seems feasible we will go ahead with the necessary legal paperwork & complete the NDA formalities.
2) Application = Bio-pharma for movement of fluids & cells
3) Target price = NA (no limit set by customer yet)
4) Design Location = India
5) Production Location = TBD (we are still in feasibility stage)
Regards,
Milankumar

Hello @Milankumar,
There are several ICs, eval boards and solutions offered by Infineon for the control of servo motors. Some of them are in the below links
MOTIX™ | Servo and Stepper Motor Driver
Servo motor – controller and driver
Servo motor drive and control
Please be assured that Infineon has ICs, evaluation boards and overall solutions for different voltage and current levels and also for different power levels and different types of motors for the application mentioned. For example, we can have a combination of EVAL-M1-CM610N3 and EVAL-M1-101T for driving 3-phase motors (mainly PMSMs) up to 750W power level. There are many more eval boards and combinations available for the same option.
Please provide more specific details such as voltage ratings of the motor, type of motor, input to the drive, etc so that we can come back with some more specific options.

Hello @Milankumar,
Please provide us the following details as well.
1. Details of the AC Servo Motor (number of phases, type of motor, power rating, voltage and current rating). Is it a two-phase induction motor?
2. Specifications of the drive. (Input voltage, power, etc)

Hello Sai,
As I told you before this design is in concept phase, so we have tentative parameters of AC servo motor. We are open for all the solution which are suitable to our application.
Speed required:
Maximum 60RPM Tentatively and
Minimum 0.5RPM Tentatively
Power: 750W Tentatively (It may be little high).
As of now we know this only. If possible, you can suggest on this after all if we get some more parameter, I will share with you.
Thank You.

Hello @Milankumar,
The example (EVAL-M1-CM610N3 and EVAL-M1-101T) I mentioned in my previous comment is suitable for driving PMSM and BLDC motors up to 750W power levels. Please refer to the corresponding user manuals for more details.
Having said that, I would request you to come up with the type of AC motor which you would want to run as servo motor best suited for your application, along with the voltage and power levels and inform us. Based on this information, we can funnel down to more specific options available.
