Hello
We can't proceed anything because of this problem.
The PORT error message keeps popping up
So no matter how many times you replace the chip, it doesn't recover.
I don't know the cause at all.

1.png2.png3.jpg

We made a customized design.
The parameters are entered well at first, but at some point, the PORT error keeps popping up.
All eight boards I have now have this symptom.
How can I solve this problem? Please give me a solution

Hi @JasonLEE,

We recommend using IMOTION-LINK for programming the iMOTION device.

Possible cause of communication error:

  • This problem could be due to weak drive signal strength. Please use RS232 line driver and receiver for UART communication.

  • We could see in the configuration file ( Setting.mc2) Ques 24: Controller supply Voltage is at 3.3V but in schematics, we could see supply voltage at which iMOTION controller operates is 5V. Please change this parameter to 5V.

Please let us know if any further clarification is needed.

Thanks,

Krupashankar

Hi @JasonLEE,

The following could be the reasons of communication failure:

  • UART0 configured as user UART
  • Connection issues between USB- UART ( PC ) and iMotion UART
  • Improper grounding

Let us know if any of the above points can be observed by you, in which case we can discuss on that specific point.

However, can you share the MCE Wizard Configuration .mc2 file and details on the communication device which you are using to program the IMC102T device.

If possible please share the schematics of custom board or only the UART0 section.

Thanks,

Krupashankar

Hello.

Thank you for your reply.

I use IMC102T chip, but I will change it to IMC101T soon. This is because the PFC function is not used.

1. At first, the parameter was downloaded well on the IMC102T chip. But at some point, this error started to appear, and the Port error message continues to appear.
The same problem continues to occur when the chip is replaced.

2. I am sharing a picture of the USB to TTL that I use.

3. Share the Schematic of your customized board.

4. I hope this problem can be solved.

5. Please let me know if you need anything else for Schematic.

6. MCE Wizard Configuration .mc2

Please check and reply

Thanks.

Hello.

Thank you for your reply

1. Used a USB to TTL cable.

2. I shared the Schematic of TX and RX parts. If you need anything else, please let me know and I will attach it.

3. Obviously, the parameter value was entered well at first, but it didn't work well as time went by, but now it doesn't work at all. All 8 boards are not working.

4. I must know what the cause is. Please help it.

MCE Wizard Configuration .mc2
I attached the file with the Google drive.

Hello.

Thank you for your reply

I think it would be good to use iMOTION link.

Please look at my Schematic.

Can I use iMOTION link?

Or should I modify the Schematic?

I think we can connect it like this.

Schematic +5V, but 3.3V is acceptable.

Please look at the connection part. Can I use it like this?

Best Regards

Hi @JasonLEE,

Please use the below connection for the existing schematics and iMOTION Link

Pin Connection:

iMOTION Link 8 Pin Debug connector Pin 7 RXD1 - IMC RXD0 Pin 1 Programming header P6

iMOTION Link 8 Pin Debug connector Pin 8 TXD1 - IMC TXD0 Pin 2 Programming header P6

iMOTION Link 8 Pin Debug connector Pin 4 GND - GND Pin 3 Programming header P6

iMOTION Link 8 Pin Debug connector Pin 3 VDD - 5V IMC  Pin 1 J1

During programming, we recommend powering IMC102T only from the iMOTION Link.

Note: If IMC102T is powered externally with 5V please don't connect Pin 3 and Pin 6 of the iMOTION Debug connector to IMC102T.

Please let us know if any further clarification is needed.

Thanks,

Krupashankar

Hello

I have a question.

TX-TX
RX-RX

Is it possible to this connect?

TX-RX
RX-TX

Shouldn't I connect it like this?

Please reply.

Hi @JasonLEE,

In the case of iMOTION Link 8 Pin Debug connector, the PC  lines are internally swapped and RXD1 of Debug connector can be connected to RXD0 of iMOTION Device
