I am designing BLDC controller for Air cooler application using IMC101T-T038, the motor performance during startup is not consistent the motor starts smoothly at times but sometimes during the startup, when the issue is observed the motor is stationary at a position for few seconds and then starts rotating slowly with making high noise.

Attaching the MCE Wizard file for reference.

Please suggest any solution.     @Krupashankar @Sahil_K @LinGuohui

Sorry for the delay in response and Thanks for your patience

Can you please set Ques 84 - Internal Current Feedback Amplifier Gain to 1 and test.  

If the problem still exist. Can you please make sure if all the motor parameters are configured correctly?

Hi @mighty,

Can you please check the following points:

  • Make sure if the motor parameters are measured and configured correctly. For more details please refer to Basic Motor Parameters and the Configuration
  • Make sure if the current sensing parameters are configured correctly.
  • Configure ques 60- Flux Estimator Time constant to ~ 50 - 60 msec.
  • Try increasing Ques 14- Low Speed Current limit Slightly ~30-40% and observe the behavior.

Thanks for the quick response.

Can you review the values for the questions 83 and 84 , the values now are 83.3mV/A and 3 respectively, I was reviewing your suggestion for ensuring current sensing parameters so just wanted a assurance. Motor current at highest speed is 1.2A , shunt resistor value is 100mOhms.

Please select the latest firmware version in MCE Wizard.

Hi @Krupashankar ,

The motor is not starting and I am constantly getting Gatekill fault. The motor current goes till 0.15 - 0.2 A and the fault is triggered.

Hi @mighty,

Can you please safely measure the voltage at pin6 ( ISS/IU) when there is no current flowing?

We would like to find the exact offset voltage which is appearing on sense pin.
