This datasheet is referenced in "EVAL-M1-IM828-A".

 

There is one question.

It's about the capacitance.

When AC 3-380V is entered, it is converted to VDC600 past the rectifier.

But is it okay to use the capacitor at 450V?
I understand that the capacitor should be used at 600V, Please reply to this part.

Hi Jason,

The capacitor is in series and parallel at this schematic . According to the circuit principle, Capacitor series voltage division, parallel shunt. So it's okay to use the 450V capacitor in series.

Hello

If a protection is needed for the case when either of the R3 and R4 get shorted due to any reason, then the full 600V DC will appear across the two series capacitor of the other parallel combination.  (For example, R3 getting shorted would mean C7 and C9 having full 600V dc across them). In such a case, the present 450V rating of the capacitors will lead to overvoltage problems.

The selection of voltage rating for the capacitors depend on the designer whether he wants to keep protection for the resistors getting shorted. Otherwise in normal working conditions, the 450V rating should not cause any trouble.
