Hi,
looking for PCB based evaporator motor and condenser motor and compressor controller. using breakers to operate those. I would like to go with PCB based controller and the required power to motors and compressor must drive through the PCB board.

voltage and current rating as below
Compressor - full load current 14.8A, running 11.2A
condenser fan - full load current 2.5A
Ventilation fan - full load current is 3A

need tripping of compressor if the load current is more or short circuit or thermal protection. compressor will off if the set temperature is reached to set point.

indication of temperature and set point adjustment

inputs to the board , pressure switches and tremo start or any RTD or any temperature element to read the temperature.

Please let me know if any more details required

The contactor has to be selected based on the application.

Below is product page for solid state relays from Infineon:

Please select a controller from the XMC family as suggested.
https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/microcontroller/32-bit-industrial-microcontroller-based-on-a...

You can procure an Eval Board which has all the peripherals based on your project requirement and start the project design.

Unfortunately there is no existing example or sample project.

After initial examination and based on your project requirement please choose a particular part from Infineon and we will be able to extend support on particular Infineon part used in the project

Hi @amaheshs 

 

We propose to use a microcontroller from our XMC family of controllers for controlling the system.

Using the controller we can generate signals to control the motor contactors. The fault detection as required can be performed by sensing the voltage and current values on the ADC channels.

 

We don’t have a direct solution with contactors and relays mounted on the PCB. Nevertheless, we will extend our support during the product design.

Thank you for the reply, could you please advise type of contractor do we need to use.

i would like to know more on the board design and go ahead further. is sample possible

Hi Viswa,

Thank you again on suggestion, really I need your help to get the boards. gon through the link and find only the ICs are available but did not find any board with components.

Please advise the right part no or nay model no.,, of the board. I have no idea on selection.  SSR selection no issue I can 

hope you understand my situation

Hi

To select the appropriate evaluation board for your application, we need to understand the following
1) Number of I/O pins needed to control the contactors and other peripherals
2) A/D pins needed for the application
3) Please add any other functionalities needed for the product.
This will help us to suggest a board that can perform the required operation.

Hi,

Sorry, reply in delay

The inputs are

- 4 digital inputs to board protentional free contacts from the pressure switches 

- 1 thermostat digital contact to the board 

- 1 or 2 digital outputs protentional free contact, in case of any fault 

logics is very simple 

- any pressure switch gives HIGH or LOW signal the compressor power must cutoff

- the compressor must ON and OFF with respect to the thermostat set point

- evaporator motor and condenser motor must run continuously if all the inputs are healthy    

- compressor will stat if the thermostat is above the set point 

- in case of high current withdraw by any of the equipment ( compressor or motors ) the power must stop and alarm common alarm must generate  

the logic run continuously 24 /7

Hi @amaheshs 

 

We presume the operation as below,

based on the logical settings and conditions implemented in the controller

whenever a signal is given to the contactor/relay to turn-ON,  the compressor or motors should turn-ON.

in similar lines the contactor should turn-OFF based on some conditions.

Please confirm the above understanding.

Hi @amaheshs ,

 

We propose to use the following board, which has various I/O channels, A/D channels and also comes with multiple communication channels.
Along with this board one more PCB has to be developed which has the signal conditioning circuits,
I/O connections between the contactors etc to the XMC board.
