Hi Folks,

From the previows discussion, finally I could download Setup1.0
https://community.infineon.com/t5/ModusToolbox/Release-Announcement-ModusToolbox-v3-2-available-for-...

Then when I tried to ModusToolbox setup, it did not went good.

So I removed related files, as far as I could think of, then re-downloaded

ModusToolboxSetupInstaller_1.0.0.468_windows_x64_signed.exe

launcher2_2023.9.1_Windows_x32-x64.exe

I installed both and in the Launcher I can see the SETUP

In this window, I'm already logged in as me, but allow me to hide my working mail address 😉

(At least "Log out" icon is there)

017-Launcher.JPG

Then when I click and start the Setup, I get
Error: Failed to start Launcher Service: 'process failed to start'

and

Error: Failed to check for the ModusToolbox Setup update

011-ModusToolbox_Setup1.0.JPG

Since the upper left of the ModusToolbox Setup 1.0 is saying "Login"

I clicked the "Login" Icon, then got

Error: Failed to Login: 'process failed to start'

Note: The right side of the "Login" Icon is saying "Login session is in progress" >_<

013-Login_process_failed.JPG

Just in case, let me note that I can login to both MyInfineon and IDC.

(1) MyInfineon

014-MyInfineon.JPG

(2) Infineon Developer Community (So, I can post this here)

015-IDC.JPG

Since the Setup Utility has removed my ModusToolbox 3.1,

currently I have no MTB on my PC, I'd really like to install v3.2.

Now my question is would someone teach me what the safest or the most reliable way to install MTB v3.2 is?

And/or how can I find the cause(s) of errors above?

Dear Mykhailo-san,

Thank you very much for your help and support.

With your help finally I could find "my" root cause of this problem.

That was

(1) When I tried to install MTB v3.2, during the time I tried to specify the location to install I made a mistake or some mistakes.

(2) So I tried to uninstall everything, during this I removed "<My Home Folder>\Infineon" manually,

(3) Since the un-installer of the "LauncherService", which was automatically installed with the "Developer Center Launcher" was under the removed folder, uninstall of "LauncherService" got to be impossible.
And Windows  thought that "LauncherService" is still installed.

(4) When I tried to re-install "Developer Center Launcher", the installer was falsely informed that the "LauncherService" has been already intalled, so it skipped installing the "LauncherService".

(5) Although it seemed that I was in a dead end, you informed me that with regedit we can force delete the image of a zombi application.  Practically by deleting an entry

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{9cb6b9c-6021-4b80-bf9c-7c3dc4ea33df}_is1

062.JPG

After deleting this entry, Windows does not think that the "LauncherService" is installed nor exist.

(6) Then I executed the "launcher2_2023.9.1_Windows_x32-x64.exe", which also installed the "LuncherService" this time.

(7) Now the "ModusToolbox Setup" starts without error message.

105.JPG

(8) I also could login and I could install ModusToolbox Programming tools

116.JPG

So I hope that my issue has been solved.

P.S. As I installed the "Developer Center Launcher',  "LauncherService" and "ModusToolboxSetup"
under my "Home Folder" this time  to be safe,  I may want to un-install everything and re-try it with my preferable "C:\Infineon" folder, but it's a totally different story 😉

Hi @MotooTanaka ,

I followed below mentioned process

1. Go to https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/design-support/tools/sdk/modustoolbox-software/

2. Click on Download

3. Download ModusToolboxSetupInstaller_1.0.0.468_windows_x64_signed

4. Open ModusToolboxSetupInstaller_1.0.0.468_windows_x64_signed > Select Install for me

5. I Accept > Next > Next > Install

6. It asked for login, please log-in to continue

7. After installation, launch Dashboard and select for which Target IDE you want to launch MTB

Can you please try this way?

Also, As you can see below, for me 3.1 was not deleted. When we select what version to install, already 3.1 would have been selected. If we un-select it, then the tool will uninstall it. Before moving forward, please play around with the check-boxes available and read the corresponding messages that are reflected.

Hi,  @Arpit_S -san,

Thank you very much for your suggestion!

I followed your steps, 1 to 5 seems to be OK.

But at the step 6, I was not asked for login, instead the following window showed up.

Note: I was logging in IDC, as I was referencing your direction.

012.JPG

It seems that somewhere in my PC remembers incomplete login information of mine,

or some information from the previous trials were recorded somewhere.

Anyway, thank you very much for your help.

Dear Arpit_S-san,

I spent more than 5 hours with this and yesterday, finally gave up

then I tried to install ModusToolbox 3.1.

Installtion itself went OK, but as I wanted to install MTB in

C:\Infineon\Tools\ModusToolbox

there came up a window to suggest me to set ENV Var CY_TOOLS_PATHS to

C:/Infineon/Tools/ModusToolbox/tools_3.1/

But with this I could not compile a simple project...

and I figured out that the variable must be

C:/Infineon/Tools/ModusToolbox/tools_3.1

the last foward slash (/) was not required.

I used

ModusToolbox_3.1.0.12257-windows-install.exe

if this has been fixed in the newer version it's OK,

otherwise it would be nice to correct the string in the notice window.

Returning to the original topic, right now I can not spend more time for v3.2,

so I give up and continue to use v3.1 untile someone figureout the cause and fix.

Hi @MotooTanaka -san,

I am sorry for the issues you are facing in the installation of ModusToolbox 3.2. I tried installing MTB 3.2 on a personal device and I think the reason behind this could be login issue.

I see in the screen-shots attached by you, also has the word Login written there, meaning the dialog-box so opened is facing issues in getting you logged in. and maybe because of this, the installation is not happening.

This is the initial diagnosis for this problem. I am not sure about it for now. Please allow me check further on this and get back to you with a solution or workaround.

Please be assured that I am actively working on this, please give me some more time. I really appreciate your cooperation.

Thanks!

Dear @Arpit_S -san,

Thank you very much for your update.

As I wrote, I successfully re-installed v3.1, so I  can survive for the time being,

so you don't have to hurry too much.

I'm looking forward to hearing more from you.

I'm trying to install ModusToolbox on Linux (Ubuntu 22.04) and I'm getting the same error.

I downloaded "ModusToolboxSetupInstaller_1.0.0.468_linux_x64.deb" from softwaretools.infineon.com and launched it.

I get the following log messages:
LoginError1.png

After clicking on "Login" nothing happens and I get the following log:
LoginError2.png

Hello @MotooTanaka , hello @SG-O

Could you please collect the logs for both:

- Infineon Developers Center Launcher

- ModusToolbox Setup Tool

Please attach both of the logs here. Alternatively you can send these to me via the private message.

Thank you very much!

   Mykhailo

In order to do that.

1. For Infineon Developers Center go to Help->Contact Us->Generate Support Document:

2. For the ModusToolbox Setup Tool:

Please go to Help->About
