Hi, I have a TLE9879 shield for Arduino. I am driving a BLDC motor in FOC mode. On the bench with no load attached, the motor spins (although there is a stert-up trait where it spins more slowly for a couple of seconds, then abruptly changes to what I assume is the correct speed).
When under load (attached to a drive pulley) it spins for a second, or so, then stops and vibrates.
There is no slippage on the drive belt and the drive mechanism can easily be turned by hand.
There is sufficient stall torque (as the motor will always start to spin from stand still).
It feels like some parameters are not optimised, but I am unsure which ones. For instance, I have an 8-pole motor.
Can the parameters be successfully changed on the Arduino shield? I was looking at the discussion in this thread

Thanks

Hi @jamesWilson ,

1)  For the proper functioning of the "set parameter()" command please go through the link.

Link:- https://community.infineon.com/t5/MOTIX-MCU/BLDC-SHIELD-TLE9879-setParameter-Working/m-p/398768/emcs...

2) For the optimal functioning of the motor, motor parameters have to be configured correctly. Change the parameters according to your application.

Please let us know if you have any further queries.

Best Regards,

Sahil Kumar

Hi Sahil,

Thanks for the reply. I am using the Arduino IDE, so can you confirm the following?
1) I need the Keil IDE - from here? https://www2.keil.com/mdk5
2) I need to purchase a JLink interface cable

Hi @jamesWilsonjamesWilson,

1) Yes, please download only Keil μVision5, for TLE9879 BLDC Shield.

2) Please use any debugger based on J-Link technology, like XMC LINK(KITXMCLINKSEGGERV1TOBO1).

Best Regards
