Is there any product change notification for the change in lead frame structure ?

DC 2018 parts has a hole where DC 2021 parts does not have.  Please refer to the x-ray picture below:

Hello,

I have collected some more information regarding your doubt.

  • Back in 2012, PCN was issued for BE site extension and since then the part in the subject comes from 2 backend site - TIJ (in house) and GTBF(subcon).
PCN is attached for your reference.

  • PCN didn't mention the LF difference but part from GTBF doesn't have anchor hole. That's probably because the anchor hole feature in TIJ POD was not considered critical dimension.

Also, Please find attached the PCN change notification.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Anshika

Hello,
Thank you for posting on Infineon Community.

A difference in structure can be a result of different factory locations. Depending on the factory the part was made, there can be minor differences in the package.
Please share the part number markings on both the ICs to verify if the above-stated reason is valid or not.

Thanks ad Regards,
Anshika

Hello,
Thank you for your reply.

I request you to send pictures of markings for both ICs. The one you have sent has D as its assembly site code location. I want to check if the other 2018 one has same assembly site location or not.

As I have already mentioned, depending on the factory the part was made, there can be minor differences in the package.

Thanks and Regards,
Anshika

Hello,
Thank you for sending the pictures.

As I can infer from the pictures, one IC has an assembly site location mark as D, and the other has P. This implies that the ICs are manufactured at different factory locations and this is why you are seeing a slight difference in structure.

I would also like to inform you that Infineon doesn't share any confidential documents online. Kindly contact your local salesperson/distributor in case you need any for future reference.

Thanks and Regards,
Anshika
