Hi all,

I trying to make small research around Cortex-M4 MCUs, just create list to later compare models and choose the most suitable one.  From product selector here:

https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/microcontroller/fm4-32-bit-arm-cortex-m4-microcontroller-mcu...

I found some MCUs which are not mentioned anywhere in datasheet in "Ordering information" or anywhere else. Just to give you some examples:

S6E2C10J2AGB1000A

According to ordering information datasheet, model name should be splitted as follow

adaml_1-1669733638104.png

S6E2 - Cypress FM 4 MCU

C - C Series

1 - Product Feature Set

0 - Memory Size

J2AGB - Package identifier

1000A - ?

Everything looks easy and according to described format but...

adaml_2-1669733882335.png

There is only 8, 9 and symbol possible for memory size! Also "1000A" and "2000A" is not described anywhere.

Such model looks like not exisitng one, but in Product Selector its status is "active and preferred", so....? Where I can find any information about it? What flash size it has? What's RAM size etc.?

If it would only one MCU I would live with it, but here goes list of another "ghost" models:

CY9BF166NPMC-GNE2, CY9BF166NPMC-G-MNE2, CY9BF166NPQC-G-JNE2, CY9BF166RBGL-GK7E1, CY9BF166RPMC-G-MNE2, CY9BF166RPMC-GNE2, CY9BF167NPMC-G-MNE2, CY9BF167NPMC-GNE2, CY9BF167NPQC-G-JNE2, CY9BF167RBGL-GK7E1, CY9BF167RPMC-G-MNE2, CY9BF167RPMC-GNE2, CY9BF168NPMC-G-MNE2, CY9BF168NPMC-GNE2, CY9BF168NPQC-G-JNE2, CY9BF168RBGL-GK7E1, CY9BF168RPMC-G-JNERE2, CY9BF168RPMC-G-MNE2, CY9BF168RPMC-G-MNERE2, CY9BF168RPMC-GNE2, CY9BF168RPMC-GNERE2, CY9BF366NPMC-G-MNE2, CY9BF366NPQC-G-JNE2, CY9BF366RBGL-GK7E1, CY9BF366RPMC-G-MNE2, CY9BF367NPQC-G-JNE2, CY9BF367RBGL-GK7E1, CY9BF368NPMC-G-MNE2, CY9BF368NPMC-GNE2, CY9BF368NPQC-G-JNE2, CY9BF368RBGL-GK7E1, CY9BF566NPMC-G-MNE2, CY9BF566NPMC-GNE2, CY9BF566NPQC-G-JNE2, CY9BF566RPMC-G-MNE2, CY9BF566RPMC-GNE2, CY9BF567NPQC-G-JNE2, CY9BF568NPMC-G-MNE2, CY9BF568NPMC-GNE2, CY9BF568NPQC-G-JNE2, CY9BF568RBGL-GE1, CY9BF568RPMC-G-MNE2

42 models in total, you can find them in product selector:

adaml_3-1669734609292.png

But when you click PDF icon or model name, then you go to  dead end:

What to do?

Do they not exist anymore? Are they still orderable?

I know that those MCUs are from Cypress, but you've made fusion almost 2 years ago.

Best regards,

Adam

Dear Adam,

Let me explain the 1000A/2000A, in fact, the 1/2 combined with the previous alphabet (N/V/F/P/L) is for the package, the next 0 is for packing type - Tray, the next 2 0s indicate non-preprogrammed, if not 00, means preprogrammed. the last 0 is the device derivation information, default is 0.

RAM size of each model has to refer to the  Product Lineup information in each family datasheet.

I tried to open the pdf of the model -CY9BF168RPMC-GNERE2, I can open it, the website might be having an Intermittent problem at that time. Here is the link https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Infineon-CY9B160R_SERIES_32_BIT_ARM_CORTEX_M4F_FM4_MICROCONTROLLER-Dat...

And the CY9B families are nothing but a little earlier generation of FM4 than S6E2 families, refer to the below pic to understand FM4 products,  to decode the part number, please refer to https://community.infineon.com/t5/Legacy-microcontrollers/What-suffix-G-JNE2-of-CY9AF144NAPMC-G-JNE2...

For ordering, highly recommend contacting Infineon distributors.

Please also consider XMC/PSoC MCUs if possible.
