Hi.

I want to refresh my target MCU(FM3:MB9BF524K) programmed with secureing feature.

So, I downloaded and installed "FLASH MCU Programmer for FM0+/FM3/FM4" from Cypress's website.

My target MCU is working with 32MHz crystal, but FLASH MCU Programmer can be set crystal frequency up to 24MHz.

In this case, which do I have to select the frequency at FLASH MCU Programmer?

Hello Taira-San,

We do not have any plans to support 32MHz in Flash MCU Programmer. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Can you change the clock to another frequency which MCU programmer supports? As alternative, can you use USB Direct instead of the Flash MCU programmer?

Best Regards,

Hello Taira-San,

When the flash security function is effective, please connect the external crystal oscillator. If you use this program by the internal CR clock, for secured microcontroller, when you erase, communication error will occur and the trimming data will lost.

Thanks,

Hello geon.

Thank you for your reply.

My target is working with 32MHz external crystal oscillator.

Already, I confirmed that target which removed crystal was available to refresh.

In this time, trimming data was erase too.

But, I want to refresh the target with 32MHz crystal.

Your FLASH MCU Programmer can not  be set frequency only up to 24MHz.

Do you have a modification plan to correspond to 32MHz.

Hello geon.

Already, we designed target board.

Furthermore, the product manufacturing is running.

So, we can't update the target easily.

If you will not support in 32MHz, we will use 3rd party's flash programmer which supports 32MHz.

Thank you for your support.
