Is this understanding correct that VI can exceed 6V when the maximum current to/from an input is limited by some means with external components?

データシートの13.1 Absolute Maximum RatingsのInput voltageの※3の注釈に

「VI and VO should not exceed VCC＋0.3 V.

VI should not exceed the specified ratings.

However if the maximum current to/from an input is limited by some means with external components, the ICLAMP rating supersedes the VI rating.」

の記述があります。

マイコンの入力は4mA以下であれば6Vを越えていても問題ないということでしょうか。

+B signalを考慮する場合、Iclampのスペックを優先させることになります。

どのような状況においてもAbsolute Maximum Ratingsで定義されている定格は守る必要があるが、デバイスが非通電状態の場合かつ、外部コンポーネントによって入力電流が制限できるのであれば、Iclampのスペックを優先させることになると理解いたしました。

もし認識に間違いがありましたらご指摘ください。
