Where are the official statements that FM parts marked with "MB" are form, fit and functionally identical to the same parts marked with "CY"?
Might there be any change in these parts, such as an embedded manufacturing code, that would require change to production firmware, test or process when replacing "MB" parts with their equivalent "CY" parts?
Greg
P.S. I found some statements for specific parts. If there isn't a general statement for all parts, I'm specifically interested in CY9BF56 parts that changed from MB9F56 parts.

Hello,
MB to CY prefix change was initiated from APCN173705, update followed by A,B,C versions, here is the link of C version - https://www.cypress.com/documentation/advanced-product-change-notice-apcn/apcn173705c
Different legacy Spansion MCU devices/families had different changes, MB to CY, fabsite change, discontinue and so on.
I usually look for PCN for a specific MPN or the main part(characters before dash) of a MPN from pcn webpage:
For example - MB9BF564LQN, the PCN for MB to CY change(along with other changes if any) is https://www.cypress.com/documentation/product-change-notice-pcn/pcn181301
For CY9B560 vs. MB9BF560, the CY9B560 refer to a device family name, the concept is similar with PSoC product, like PSoC 4 has PSoC4000, PSoC4100, PSoC4200 families.

Upon further investigation, I found the datasheet with a note stating CY is equivalent to MB.
The documentation is NOT easy to find.
Documentation for the MB9BF560 family of parts truncated the “F” in the documentation; but NOT in the part number. Both the Webpage and Datasheet refer to CY9B560 of CY9B560 while the actual parts are identified as CY9BF560 or MB9BF560. This is true for both the CY9BF560K and CY9BF560L parts as well as the larger CY9BF560R parts.
- MB9B560L Series 32-Bit ARM® Cortex®-M4F, FM4 Microcontroller @ https://www.cypress.com/documentation/datasheets/mb9b560l-series-32-bit-arm-cortex-m4f-fm4-microcont...
Page 2 of the datasheet clarifies “MB” and “CY” parts are identical.
- “The document has the series name, product name, and ordering part numbering with the prefix “MB”. However, Cypress will offer these products to new and existing customers with the series name, product name, and ordering part number with the prefix “CY”.”
