Hello,

just a quick question: are tools like DAS and memtool compatibles with an old processor SAK-XC2080-96F80L?

Thanks for help

Hi spf,

XC2080 is the superset device from the XC228x device.
Therefore, you can use the XC2287-96F target in Memtool to connect with XC2080 device.

Thank you for your answer,

what you say is exactly what I´m trying to do.

I have chosen XC2287-96F target in Memtool and I try to connect to a board with a SAK-XC2080-96F80L processor.
I use DAP-Miniwiggler and a cable that connect JTAG miniwiggler signals with JTAG board signals.
Memtool cannot connect with the device. The message I can read is the following:

Message from component 'IMTMemtool' :
Can't connect to Target

Message from component 'C166SV2TargIntf' :
Can't connect target !

Message from component 'C166SV2TargIntf' :
Failed to connect target device !

Any idea?

Hi spf,

Can I know what is your config pin setting?
Different config pin setting will have different start up mode.

Hello again,

If I try to connect with my board using DAS Device Scanner and UDAS Server, the tools again cannot find the target. The message I receive is the following:

""No device (DAS JDS miniWiggler JTAG/DAP/SPD V2)""

That´s why I am looking for a hardware problem and not a configuration problem.

Thank you for your attention, Jackson.

Hi spf,

I'm refering to the hardware configuration pin (Port10 pin 0 to 10 and TRST pin).
You have to set these pin correctly in order for the debugger to get connected.
Please refer to Table14-3 of the XC2200i User Manual for more information.

Hello Jackson,

I am using JTAG pos B. According to table 14-3 of the XC2200i User Manual, the pin configuration must be:
P10.0 (pin 84 microprocessor): 1
P10.1 (pin 86 microprocessor): 1
P10.2 (pin 89 microprocessor): 0
The level of rest of the pins (3 to 6) is irrelevant.

My pins P10.0, P10.1 and P10.2 are configured exactly like that. I have 10K pullups for HIGH levels and a pulldown for LOW level. I have tested the signals with the oscilloscope and they are working according this configuration.

Moreover, pin TRST is at HIGH level each 524msg for a while of 50msg.
I have verified this pin is at HIGH level while the signal TDI is active, but there is no answer. TDO is always at HIGH level and it never changes its state.

Really I am a litle lost at this time.

Thank you again.

Hi spf,

To me, your hardware configuration doesn't seems wrong.
Is the pin you used as followed?
P10.9 - TCK
P10.10 - TDI
P10.11 - TMS
P10.12 - TDO
P10.8 - BRKIN

Do you mind to share your schematic on the OCDS connector?
