Hello.

My customer is asking about UART communication with FIFO by PDL(AN99218).

(Question)

Could you please tell me how to confirmation whether setting value of FBYTE(ex.6byte)is correct at debugging.

To confirm setting value of FBYTE, they checked(watched)it at debugging but setting value wasn’t changed. (kept to 0x00)

They think it would be shown count value that accumulated in FIFO at watch point.

(Please refer Figure 6 on Application Note:AN99218).

They understanding is correct?

FBYTE.png

If so, it can’t confirm value of FBYTE correctly with watching FBYTE at debugging.

For example, is there any problem as a way to check as following?

When some bytes of data is received and check if the receive interrupt occurs only when the intended number of bytes.

To eliminate interrupt factors except target interrupt, receive FIFO idle will be disabled(FRIIE:0).

Could you please give comment and advice for idea of FBYTE confirmation?
