Hello,

The TLD1211SJ reacts on OL or SC according to the following table:
4955.attach

Please note that as the control loop in open load and short circuit behaves the same (VSENSE ~0V), the current consumption is expected to be the same for the two faults, <1.7 mA (parasitic effects could make some difference).

The TLD1211SJ is also protected against overload, overvoltage and overtemperature. In case of those faults the output current will decrease, protecting not only the IC but also the LEDs.
