CoolMOS™ S7 is suitable for “static-switching” applications. What is a “static-switching” application of power MOSFETs? A system or part of it where power MOSFETs are switching at low frequency, from a few times per minute to some KHz and where, consequently, the switching power losses of the MOSFET are not relevant. Examples of such applications are slow-switching sockets in rectification bridges, full bridges, low-frequency PFC for white goods as well as switches providing current breaking functionality like in solid state relays and solid state circuit breakers.
