Answer: First, the part are sealed on the reel by tape and, although not hermetically sealed, it will offer additional shelf exposure time. However, this time is neither measured nor guaranteed. Second, the tape and reel materials can not withstand the standard bake temperature of 125C. However, if the parts do need to be baked then a lower temperature, but longer time, may be acceptable to reach level moisture content specification. The tape and reel bake requirement is temperature of less than 60C and a time limit of 24hrs.
