MPC680 perform burst read/writes to the PCI-DP local bus

Answer:

Question: Can the MPC680 perform burst read/writes to the PCI-DP local bus?

Response: The PCI-DP local bus allows bursting controlled by the BLAST# signal.

The PCI-DP does support burst read/writes on the local bus (i.e. multiple data phases).  The local bus signal BLAST# is a configurable signal which indicates when the last data phase of a burst is occurring.

A general description of the PCI-DP local bus signaling can be found in the datasheet.

As for whether a specific processor like the MPC860 can perform burst operations, you will have to refer to the processor vendor's webpage.
