How is the maximum current capability of IVCC linear regulator to drive external auxiliary loads?
TLD6098-1EP and TLD6098-2ES feature an internal linear regulator (IVCC) to provide constant output voltage to supply internal gate drivers. The linear regulator output voltage can be used to supply auxiliary loads.
The maximum output current of the linear regulator is limited to IVCC output current limit IIVCC (PRQ-59). If the load on IVCC pin (gate driver plus external loads) draws more than IIVCC the linear regulator output voltage decreases.
The current into the gate driver depends on the MOSFET gate charge and switching frequency:
ISWO = Qg * fSWO
Then the current available for the auxiliary load is:
ILOAD = IIVCC - ISWO
