TLD6098-1EP and TLD6098-2ES feature two different way to report the faults:

  • a coded fault is provided when the resistor placed on FPWM/FAULT pin to ground is in the range 18 kΩ to 90 kΩ,
  • a steady signal is provided when the resistor placed on FPWM/FAULT pin to ground is in the range 1.8 kΩ to 9.0 kΩ

In the second case could unlikely happen that

  • the voltage loop takes over the regulation (voltage on VFB pin higher than VFB_VM(ON))
  • an over voltage on FBH is triggered

In this particular condition, the device reports the fault with 60% duty cycle on the FPWM/FAULT pin.
