When shutting down because of overcurrent or overtemperature condition, the PROFET™+ 2 12V devices display a fault signal IIS(fault) at the IS pin. While IIS(fault) is the same for overcurrent, absolute overtemperature and dynamic overtemperature shutdown, small differences in the dynamic behavior of the IS signal may be observed:
• Absolute overtemperature shutdown: IIS is constant after absolute overtemperature
• Dynamic overtemperature shutdown: IIS is typically 2 mA higher as long as TJ(DYN) is exceeded
• Overcurrent shutdown: For typically 40 µs after overcurrent, IIS is typically 3.5 mA higher
