AURIX™ MCU: CHIPID and JTAGID – KBA235686
In AURIX™ MCU, the CHIPID and JTAG ID registers identify the device and user’s board.
The CHIPID register helps the user to identify the following characteristics of the device such as:
- The device series
- The package classes
- The additional features such as the hardware security module or emulation
- The flash memory size
- The different variants based on temperature range or frequency
- The version of the flash microcode
Tools use the JTAGID register to adapt their behavior when connecting to the device. It identifies the proper register mapping or enables additional modules (e.g., multi-core debug solution (MCDS)).
Note: These two registers offer different information.
Note: This KBA applies to the following series of AURIX™ MCUs
- AURIX™ TC2xx series
- AURIX™ TC3xx series
