Intelligent Power Modules (IPM) Forum Discussions
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find an IPM to control a single-phase 220V, 1.25A(RMS) fan. I found the following device: IM111-X3Q1B, but I'm confused because the datasheet indicates that the maximum motor power should be 200W, yet the output current is 4A, and I'm not sure if I can use this device in my application. What low-cost IPM could you recommend for the motor I'll be controlling? Also, what low-cost uC could you recommend for my application? I would like a uC that has an integrated module capable of generating the necessary SPWM signal for the IPM, so I could take some load off the CPU and use it only to monitor the motor voltage and current or change the frequency of the SPWM signal when necessary
Best Regards,
Walter
Show LessHI. I am using the example ITRIP circuit from the Eval-M1-CM610N3 development board in a servo drive design using the IGCM10F60GA module. The circuit is quite simple and applies the current sense resistor voltages to an LM393 comparator via three BAT60A Schottky diodes (D2, D3, D4 on the dev board).
During testing I have found a large temperature dependency due to the diodes, as the diodes are very close to the current sense resistors and heat up during load testing (approx 50-60C). I'm verifying the trip point for each leg in turn (U,V,W) into a dummy load, and the diode leakage currents are causing the current trip point to drift up with temperature to the point where it is out of safe limits for the 10A device.
Is this normal for the Eval-M1-CM610N3 or am I missing something here?
Thanks in advance.
Show LessI'm planning to use EVAL-6ED2231S12TM1 with our BLDC hub motor which has 48 poles, 700V and PWM 20kHz required.
Is this board compatible for our requirement as the poles are quite high.
Our question is that is the micro controller fast enough to process 48 poles calculations and is power stage inverter good enough for it?
Thank you in advance for your help and advice.
Show LessHello,
We would like to use IKCM30F60GD for our application.
The fault clear time is noted to be 40us minimum, 240us typical in the documents. However, our microcontroller is only able to turn off the gate signals 100ms after the VFO pin goes LOW.
Is there a way to program or lengthen the fault clear time with extra circuitry?
Show LessHi,
I designed a power supply similar to the one shown in the following screenshot.
However, I'm facing a problem of low voltage on Pin-1 of chopper. The voltage across C5 is very low. I'm using C5 of 1nF/2KV. Voltage is accurate on other points e.g. IC and opto-coupler.
Kindly, guide me in this regard.

Show LessHi
Let me know IPM Modules that 3 models.
IM535
IKCM30F60GD
IKCM30F60GA
I've checked the data sheet, but I don't know what's good and what's bad.
Can you briefly organize and compare the 3 models?
And can you suggest a PFC application that can be used with the above model?

Hi,
I designed a power supply similar to the one shown in the following screenshot.
However, I'm facing a problem on drain of chopper. The drain of chopper is not working. Any explanation Why ? My Vcc is around 12.5V.
Kindly, guide me in this regard.
Thanks & Regards,

Show LessHello! Please let me know if there have been any changes related to the case (package) of this device, all along!
The earlier units I purchased had a notch on one of the edges of the upper part of the housing. Were there any changes related to the change of pins (which are made in the shape of a seagull wing, namely their location, associated with the central location)?
I received such a device and checked it, it has a round depression in the corner instead of a semi-circular recess at the top of the device! Also the pins (contacts) have been changed - they are straight and thinner and centered!
