Hi,all

Recently, i have some question about how to calculate the total power loss of three phase inverter (2-level).

I used 6 IGBTs, and i want to use the data which is based on double pulse test (rated peak current and rated voltage).

As the power loss data of double pulse test is one state, how to calculate the total loss of inveter (three phase with 2-level).

Thanks

Dear @Rongpeng ,
Greetings from Infineon,

IPOSIM is a fast online simulation tool powered by PLECS.
The selected topology is simulated on PLECS in the background and the losses are calculated.
Please refer this document for more details.

Kindly let us know if you have any further queries.

Best regards,

Add:

Based on double pulse test, i can get Eon, Eoff and Erec(diode)

Dear @Rongpeng ,
Greetings from Infineon,
Thanks for posting your query in Infineon Community.

We cannot determine the Switching losses of the Inverter circuit from the result of a single IGBT that is obtained from the Double Pulse Test. The losses of the circuit depends on various factors such as the configuration, and the leakage inductance of the circuit.

However, we can recommend you to use our tool IPOSIM.

In IPOSIM you can find the configuration of three phase 2 level inverter(discrete), where you can simulate online and determine the losses.

However, IPOSIM always calculates the losses for the single switch only.  To obtain the total losses for the configuration, multiply the losses by the total number of switches.

Kindly let me know if you have any further queries.

Thanks, Santhoshkumar

Actually, i'd like to know how the IPOSIM calculate the power loss.
