Hello guys,

I own the EVAL-IHW65R62EDS06J  Induction Heater eval kit and I´m wondering

why the induction coil is double layered with crossing windings.

I never see this in consumer heaters and so I wonder why this is so ?

Is there a specific reason to wind it crosswise ?

Regards

Marc

Hi,

Every manufacturer has different concept of manufacturing of coils. In this case, the double layer is given to increase the inductance in the space available. Regarding cross winding, there is no specific technical reason except, the termination and starting of winding is done at one location that's why it seems to be cross winding.

I hope you understood.

Hi,

Thank you for posting at Infineon community.

Since, the coil design is not the part of the eval board document, give me some time to check for this.
