Hi,

I would like to confirm if S27KL0642 are exactly the same as S27KL0643 as the hardware. If yes, is the only different thing to perform each test program for Octal x SPI interface and HYPERBUS interface ?

Best regards,

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Infineon Technology.

Octal xSPI and HYPERBUS are two different profiles of the xSPI std.

  • The HYPERBUS is a 6B command address (CA) packet followed by latency and data cycles. Latency count starts after 2CK.
  • Octal xSPI is a 2B opcode + 4 Byte Address cycle. Latency count starts after 3CK.

Since both use the exact same pin definition for data and controls and are available in exact same 24FBGA package; therefore, hardware is the same. However, controller firmware would require little tweak to take care of the above differences.

Thank you

Regards,
