When migrating from S27KS0641 to S27KS0642, in the attached PDF
On the 3rd page, it says "From a hardware point of view, no changes to the PCB are required."
S27KS0641 requires "differential clock", S27KS0642 "differential clock is optional", and "When CK# of S27KL0642 is not used,
Can be left floating. ”, there is a difference in the PIN specifications.

Therefore, the items to be confirmed are that the current board that uses the S27KS0641 is designed with a differential clock connected based on the ["HyperFlash™ and HyperRAM™ layout guide.pdf".] Is there any problem if I migrate (replace) to S27KS0642 without changing PCB?

Hi @MAO ,

>The part you consider  for reference of CK# Is “S27KL0642” and  S27KL0642 and S27KS0642  are different parts

>And you are migrating from S27KS0641 to S27KS0642   so as per document(AN226137)

 >CK# configuration  for S27KS0642  as it is a 1.8v part

The S27KS0642 datasheet also states that the CK# differential clock mode is optional.
Again, is it okay to use S27KS0642 with CK# connected like S27KS0641?

Hi @MAO ,

The below Image for S27KS0642   (Datasheet)part and  it states that( CK#) differential clock mode is optional

And for S27KS0641  (Datasheet)below image states that for 1.8v part differential clock mode is not optional

for more reference app note(AN226137) Image

Please confirm from your side for S27KS0641 you used differential clock because it is not optional

And let us know your response

Thanks ,

Shubham

Thank you for your reply.
Customer is using S27KS0641 with differential clock.
Although it is an option for the S27KS0642, does it mean that there is no problem in proceeding with the board creation by moving from the S27KS0641 to the S27KS0642 with the same connection (with the differential clock connected)?
