Suppose I have various power mosfets in parallel to handle a huge ammount of current, in this case the gate driving current will also
increase. Is there any way to do this without using another gate driver?

Hi,
I'm looking for a suitable power supply for the gate driver 1EDI60N12AF. As it is a isolated driver, it uses two isolated voltages, 5V and 12V or 15V. My question is basically about the ratings of the 15V power supply. The gate driver datasheet specifies a minimun peak current of 6A. But that doesn't mean that my supply has to be rated at 6A or 10A. In fact, my PWM frequency is 10 kHz, so I expect an average current drawn from 15V supply of I = Q x Fs, where Q is the total gate charge of my power MOSFET and Fs my PWM frequency. According to my power mosfet datasheet (IRF250P224), the total charge is 160 nC (for a VDS of 200V), so I = 160nC * 10 kHz = 1.6 mA.
In summrary, do you think that a 15V power supply rated a 66mA/1W is suitable? The minimum 6A peak current is provided by the decoupling capacitor, right? I'm just starting to do designs in Electronics, so I'm trying to strengthen some concepts.
My project involves mains, so I will use an AC/DC converter to get the 5V (IRM-15-5), and isolated DC/DC converter to step up the 5V to 15V (R1SE-0515/H2-R). Show Less

Hi, the company I work for designed this circuit to drive a variable capacitance load. The ideal waveform shape would be a trapezoidal pulse with a controlled upward slope (about 60V/us) a width, and a controlled downward
slope of the same magnitude. Here is the relevant schematic section:

And I of course have the bootstrap:

The slope is supposed to be independent of the load's capacitance, but on the scope it clearly isn't. I suspect it's because as the C increases, it takes longer to charge, which takes longer to feedback thru the bootstrap, and etc.
Is there any way for me to make the high-voltage output independent of the driver? Like, if I'm switching a high voltage of 96V, could I connect, say, 108V directly to the BS input, and not have that feedback? My understanding
is the need for bootstrap is because the gate on the MOSFET has to go so much higher than the voltage being switched. Can I do something else?
Thanks! Dan B. Show Less

The bootstrap power supply is one of the most widely used methods to supply power to the high-side drive circuitry of a gate driver IC. It consists of a bootstrap diode and a bootstrap capacitor as shown in the following figure.

This method has the advantage of being both simple and low-cost. However, the requirement to refresh the charge on the bootstrap capacitor may result in limitations on the power converter’s duty-cycle and power switch’s on-time. Proper capacitor and bootstrap resistance selection can drastically reduce these limitations. For more information, please refer to the following two application notes:

I plan to use the TLE7182E gate driver to drive a full H-bridge using AUIRF7739L2TR DirectFETs.
The supply voltage will be 13.8V and the switching frequency will be 25kHz.
Will this gate driver be able to drive these DirectFETs ?
I have been reading various application notes to determine the power requirements for a gate driver but its confusing.
Things I am unsure of are:
1 - What is the voltage of the TLE7182E gate driver outputs ? Will this be the supply voltage i.e. 13.8V ?
2 - The AUIRF7739L2TR data sheet has two values for Gate-to-Source charge, Qgs1 (46nC) and Qgs2 (19nC). Whats the difference and which value should I use ?
3 - What is the maximum output current of the TLE7182E gate driver outputs, I cannot seem to find this value in the datasheet ? Show Less

Hello, I have a question about IR2110, I´m trying to implement H bridge power circuit for a DC motor and my problem is that the high side MOSFET does not turn on. Im using the same signal fot both inputs, square wave 0 to 5 V ant I tried huge range of frquecies. I tried voltage of MOSFETS (VE in scheme) up to 32 V an also many bootstrap capacitances. I don´t what I´m doing wrong, does anypone cal help me? Thank you.

hi,
i am supporting a customer doing E-bike / E-scooter and hence we are promoting power devices eg. power mosfet and gate driver IC. This customer is interested in 36V system and using BLDC motor for E-bike.
i was looking at AUIRS20302S datasheet and noticed an application board is available using AUIRS20302S and IRFS3607 for BLDC Motor application. More detailed information is shown on AUIRS20302S datasheet on pg. 14-16.
Do you know how we could get this application board ?
