The values on page.34 of the 1ED34x1Mx12M Datasheet indicate a typical high level output current of 11A and a low level current of 7.5A, but there is also a min value. Which value should I use as the limit value calculation option for the driving resistor during design: type or min?
In addition, the remarks describe the testing conditions: the Rg resistance is 0.1 ohms, which is confusing for me.It is so tiny, why is the peak current output only 11A/7A?

Hello fuqiang ,
Please refer to the min value of output peak current 1ED3491M as the limit value calculation option for the driving resistor.
Share you an AN about Selecting the Right Gate Resistor for Power Devices. You can refer to the calculation equations at the page 4. Here is the link:https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Infineon-EiceDRIVER-Gate_resistor_for_power_devices-ApplicationNotes-v...
For the test conditions with Rg resistance of 0.1 Ohm, the peak current output is only 11A/7A, depending on the output current ability of the chip itself.
Best regards,
Rachel

gao,
thanks,
I downloaded the SIMPLIS model provided by the website and found that the Rg resistance is only 1 ohm. According to the instruction in the AN manual, for a+16V/-8v system, a 9A current can only use a minimum resistance of 24/9=2.67 ohms. According to the SIMPLIS simulation results, the current did not exceed the safety limit. Is it feasible to simulate the actual minimum resistance that can be used (based on the Cies of the selected IGBT)?

Dear fuqiang,
Maximum output current capability depends on the chip itself, not the gate resistor. In any case, the actual test should ultimately prevail. It is recommended that you use the driver IC within the specification of datasheet.
