Is it possible to use the Active Clamp Function together with an external NPN/PNP Booster at voltage Level of +15/-8V?

How exactly has it to be designed? We do not understand Chapter 2.5 in the 1ED Family Description

Best Regards

Hello @RonnieRolfes

Thanks for posting in the Infineon community.

Yes, It is possible to implement the  Active Clamping feature with an external booster. The Active miller

clamming is used while the Gate is having unipolar voltage. since you have Bipolar voltage the Active

clamping is not necessary, still if you want to use Active miller clamping you can use it. But you will get active

miller operation in the voltage range of 2V  which is -6V to -8V accordingly you need to the calculation. You can

see the voltage 2V reference in the Active miller  clamping pin below the picture.

Kindly refer this document for external booster
