In 16~60V motor drive applications,When we use 6ED2742S01Q as the gate driver chip,If we use the external 15V DC power supply directly as the VCC drive power supply , how to deal with the VIN, BJT_DR and VREG pins of 6ED2742S01Q? Should they all be connected to the VCC, or should they all be suspended?

The following is a partial DATASHEET screenshot ,but there are two different ways.

In addition, is it appropriate to suspend CP1 and CP2 pins in this application?

Hello @Jancy

Since your DC link voltage is 60V same can be used for the driver also that is a cost-effective solution. If you want to use an additional 15V supply for VCC you can use it. Functionally both attachments(application note and datasheet) are the same circuits. for better performance of IC, the pins should not be open so connections to be done accordingly.

Kindly use the below mention circuit (Your attachment First circuit)

Note: Connect a capacitor between  CP1 and CP2.

Thanks

Hello @Jancy

Thanks for posting your question in Infineon community.

The VIN, BJT_DR, VREG and CP1 and CP2 connections should follow the below connections.

CP1 and CP2 should not be open kindly connect the capacitor.

Please refer this link  (https://community.infineon.com/t5/Gate-Driver-IC-s/6ED2742S01Q-Application/td-p/345668 )

Thank you

Hi Guru, thank you so much for your reply!

Due to PCB layout consideration, my current scheme design is different from the routine you mentioned!

My current scheme is to use external 15V power supply as VCC power supply, which is defined in the DATASHEET. However, there are two recommended circuits inside. One is to connect VCC, VIN, BJT and vreg to external 15V and suspend CP1 and CP2; The other is that VCC is connected to 15V, and the pins VIN, BJT, vreg, CP1 and CP2 are all suspended. As shown in the following two pictures, the first one is provided by datasheet and the other is provided in the Application Manual of 6ed2742s01q. So I need to know which one to take!
