Gate Driver ICs Forum Discussions
I am operating 6EDL7141 (evaluation board).
Therefore, we were able to confirm operation with DVDD=5V, but when setting DVDD=3.3V, it no longer works.
(Both register and external resistance values are set at 3.3V.)
Regarding the registers, other than the DVDD settings, I haven't changed anything from when operating at 5V, but it still doesn't work.
Are there any register settings that I need to be careful about when operating at 3.3V?
If possible, could I have a reference register for 3.3V operation?

Show LessHi, I'm using 1EDI3030AS gate driver for SiC MOSFETs
after soldering the gate driver IC to my PCB, there is an spark between pin 13 and 14
as my application use +15V for VCC2 and -3V for VEE2, there gonna be a 18V of voltage difference between pin 13 and 14.
I used the IC's footrpint from Infineon web site(for altium users), and I checked there is about 0.2mm of clearance between two pins.
any other components are soldered except the flyback circuit for making VCC2 and VEE2 and gate driver IC.
In my opinion, 0.2mm of clearance is not sufficient for 18V voltage difference between pin 13,14.
should I reduce the pad in footrpint of IC?
the picture below is how my board looks like.

Hello,
IRF2805STRLPBF and IR2085STRPBF are shown as "Not Recommended for New Design", could you help check if you have pin-to-pin replacements?

Show LessHello,
We are working on a project and we are controlling a valve.
We are using TLE7242-2G and we have noticed something.
Although we do not enable transient mode (in message 6), if we use 2KHZ PWM frequency, new setpoint is reached immediately after the last pwm period.
Bu if we use a lower frequency like 140Hz, it takes tens of periods to current to settle. Wyh should this happen?
What we clearly noticed is that the current waveform is changed from triangular to rectengular PWM (because of the decrease in frequency). Should this effect transient mode?

Show LessHello, I am using 1ED3890 to replace and old analog 3 phase inverter system. The old system uses a kelvin emitter in addition to a power emitter to presumably trigger an error on high di/dt situations. Is it possible to implement this system for this driver? If not necessary, where should I connect the extra cable connection from the common emitter busbar?
The article in https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/Infineon-Application+Note+TRENCHSTOP%E2%84%A2+5+in+TO-247+4pin-AN-v01_00-EN.pdf?fileId=5546d4624933b875014974f4d97e09ea mentions in page 8 that: "The driver’s local ground, referenced to the auxiliary emitter, must be isolated from the power ground. This is mandatory to prevent shortening pins E1 and E2". How can I achieve this ground isolation? I'm already using an insulated bipolar supply with 15V ~ -5V.

Show LessHello,
I am trying to study the 1k6W PSU Link .
I am unable to understand the connections of Oring MOSFET gate driver (secondary side), specifically "VCC2" and "GND2"
The VCC2 pin is connected to 12V flyback auxiliary net "Oring VDD2" and the net "Oring VDD" of LLC transformer through a Schottky diode and the GND2 pin is connected to net "12Voring".
First of all, I want to know, what is the need for diodes "D8" and "D17"? Please clarify.
Also, kindly specify why an isolated gate driver 1EDI20N12AF is required for Oring MOSFETs, whereas a non-isolated gate-driver 2EDN7524F is used for Synchronous MOSFETs.
Please find the reference image attached.

This is about the gate driver of 2ED2181S06F.
This is an existing product with a built-in bootstrap diode, but does it also have a limiting resistor built into the bootstrap diode path?
I checked the datasheet, but I couldn't understand it. If there is a built-in bootstrap resistor, why does it have a wide range of 15Ω at minimum to 45Ω at maximum as stated in the data sheet?
f anyone knows the details, please respond.

Hello All,
We are using 1ED020I12-F2 gate driver for driving three phase inverter with 6 IGBT modules and each IGBT module is being driven by 1ED020I12-F2 gate driver.
We are using single (i.e. unipolar power supply) of +15V. I am assuming that as this IC has feature of Active miller clamp which will prevent dv/dt turn on failure and hence there is no need to give bipolar i.e. -ve supply also. Am i correct with this?
Question is as we have not used negative power supply is it ok ? or do you have use cases with 1ED020I12-F2 gate driver with only positive power supply and up to what rating of IGBT module.
Pls suggest.

Mukesh

I would like to do a simulation that includes the current sense amplifier.
Unfortunately, it is not included in the TLE9210x-232QX PSpice Simulation Models available in Design Support.
Please introduce the most suitable PSpice Simulation Models.
It would be better if you could do Monte Carlo analysis.
Hi,
I am trying to connect the infineon gate driver for high voltage GaN MOSFET and I have designed the attached Altium circuit. Can you tell me what is incorrect here and what can be done.
Thanks is advance.
