Hello,

We have a customer that purchased 21 of these units from us and they claim 12 pcs to be defective.

The issue they are experiencing is what they are calling: Gate Resistance Value

The acceptable value is between 6 and 15 Ohms. The 12 deemed defective are measuring higher 51 - 165 Ohms

Measuring with Fluke 85 DMM

Is the customer concern viable? I could not find the acceptable values on the data sheet.

Thank you, Tim McCall

Dear Tim McCall,
Good day!!
First of all Thank you for your observation.
As we confirm in the several tests the gate current and gate voltage are within the datasheet values. We do current and voltage tests in the gate. We never measure the resistance between gate and cathode. As it is showing resistance(high value) means nothing to worry about modules.
When measuring with FLUKE DMM if we observe any short circuit behavior then we can say that Thyristor got damaged.

Best Regards,
Anil Kumar.
