Hi,

sorry if this question has been asked before, but the forum software won't let me search for terms like "Git" or "Team" because they are "too short or too common".

I'm using DAVE 4 and I'm using Git for version control, and I cannot get DAVE to show the Git label decorations, although I have set the checkmark for "Git" in the Preferences under "General - Appearance - Label Decorations". Therefore it is impossible to view for example if a file is dirty.

Is there any additional configuration that needs to be done to enable the Git icon decorations in DAVE 4?

Hi,
I was trying to trigger the DMA using ADC result event. But I couldn't get the DMA triggered even though the ADC seems working fine.
I am using DAVE 4.3 - 64bit. I am attaching the APPS that I have used to create my program.
1. ADC_MEASUREMENT_ADV
2. DMA_CH

In the ADC_MEASUREMENT_ADV app I have configured for 8 channels and ADC_QUEUE_APP.
In the channel configuration tab "wait for read" is enabled for channels from A to H and "result event" is enabled for channel H.
In the "Sequence plan" refill is selected for all the channels.
In the ADC_QUEUE i have selected "no external trigger", "All conv req are issued", "priority3" , "wait for start" and "12 bit conv mode".
In the GLOBAL_ADC "analog clk" is selected as 30MHz and digital clock as fadc/2.

In the DMA_CH app I hav selected "multi blk src addr reload and dst addr reload"
transfer flow as "peripheral to memory"
priority-->7, block size -->8, src and dst address-->increment, transfer width-->16, burst width-->8 and src handshaking as "hardware".
I have enabled "src gather" and "gather count" and "gather interval" as 1.
In the interrupt settings, enabled "block transfer complete event" and also defined the corresponding ISR in main.c

In the "Hardware signal connections" i I have selected source app as "ADC_MEASUREMENT_ADV_0", source signal-->event_res_Channel_H, Target app--> DMA_CH_0
and Target signal-->source_trigger

Can anybody suggest the solution for this problem?

Recently I downloaded DAVE. What I really like the most about DAVE is that it abstracts detail of the controller hardware (which as a software developer I always find cumbersome), and that it avoids complexity of writing time consuming low level drivers and libraries.

In approximately 20 min I could compile, build, and debug a simple display example project. Later I extended the example project to make a Ping Pong game (source code attached below) that uses XMC4500 in-built ADC to move the paddle or bat to avoid the ball from falling. See the attached image below.



Detail of my experiment:

(1) Boards used: CPU Board XMC4500 General Purpose and Standard Human Machine Interface

(2) Install DAVE and then install Apps from http://www.infineon.com/DAVE. (In case you need any help refer https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/DAVE+Quick+Start+PresentationTutorial+v2-1.pdf?folderId=5546d4694909da4801490a075148059c&fileId=db3a304344d727a80144d99976b2002b. This document provides detail steps to install apps and run the example project.)

(3) Download OLED Display GUISL-Example1.

a. In DAVE IDE, Help -> Install DAVE Apps/Example Libraries (this opens Library Manager Wizard)
b. Under ‘Work with:’, select ‘DAVE Project Library Manager’ option (combo box)
c. Under ‘Libraries’, select XMC4000 -> XMC4500 Series -> DAVE3 Example Projects with DAVE Apps -> Human Machine Interface -> Graphical User Interface -> OLED Display GUISL-Example1, and press Next
d. Accept the term and press Finish. Now the selected example project will be downloaded.
e. Press ‘Yes’ to import example project in workspace.

(4) Expand GUISL001_Example1 from project window and double click main.c. The file will be opened in editor. Replace the default content by content of the attached main.txt file.



(5) Build the project and load the image using debugger and run it.

That’s all. The Ping Pong game is ready. Move the paddle/bat by rotating knob of the potentiometer available in the CPU board.

Summary of my first experience:

In less than a day I could make a graphic application without being bothered about IDE, debugger, low level drivers and graphics library, or any detail of the XMC4500 microcontroller such as datasheet or register details. Thanks to DAVE IDE, and comprehensive set of example reference projects, libraries and apps, all of which are provided as part of the DAVE package.

Hi~

I started DAVE4 and XMC4500 EV Kit to use five ADC
so composed ADC result programming and circuit
but Although four ADC to analog input(attatched files) of XMC4500 EV Kit connected, discovered the five ADC results in debugging of DAVE4 (from ADC2~ADC6)

How do I solve this problem?? Show Less

What a crappy software! It cannot update to v4.3.2 automatically. I tried to import PWM_CCU8_EXAMPLE_XMC13 and it showed v4.3.2 was a must. I updated the DAVE and it only updated to v4.2.8.
Very poor software design and lots of bugs. It is not user friendly at all. I will consider abandon XMC MCU from our future products. Show Less

Hello,

Very new to infineon microcontrollers and DAVE. Please be patient.

I have run through a couple examples and I think I understand enough of the XMC library. I decided to start writing my own library for multiple projects to reference. The output of the project is a .lib.

I created a new "ARM-GCC Library Empty Project". I have started including various header files I will need for my peripherals. Any of the XMC header files I call out cause an error. The XMC library isn't part of my includes path. How do I add it to it? All the examples just seem to work.

2 Questions:
1) Does Emulated EEPROM work on XMC4000 family?

2) I'm using E_EEPROM app on a XMC1302 device. Seems to work well.
When programming or updating a device, how can I preserve the contents of the EEPROM? I have cal data stored. It seems if I update the device using Dave and debug, the data is preserved. But if I use flasher app, XMCFlasher.jar, the EEPROM gets erased.
Any help is appreciated. Show Less

I tried to use MULTICAN_CONFIG APP.
It works, but:

1)
I did not find any possibility to choose input pin for CAN reception.
In generated source is chosen the pin

.rx_signal                = XMC_CAN_NODE_RECEIVE_INPUT_RXDCA,

If you want to use another it is necessary to modify generated source. At the same time
it is necessary to activate output pin manually. In this case it is possible to do it in user code
using XMC_GPIO_Init

2)
If I tried to configure Message Objects I realized that Identifier Value cannot accept zero.
Why? Identifier Zero is valid CAN Identifier used in CANOpen in NMT messages. Show Less

I started DAVE4 and XMC4500 to use UART TX and RX
and I checked the format of UART TX , RX function such as
