I understand that some versions of the TLE4971 are perceived to be capable of measuring a current of up to ±120A internally, depending on the product.(iCR)
However, when referring to the datasheet, the TLE4971's Nominal current is specified as ±70A.
Is there a way to detect ±120A using iCR with the TLE4971?Show Less
Hello, I am performing an FMEDA and i need the FIT rate for the TLE4972 if it's possible.
Can this device be set to latch upon overcurrent detection?
I am working on one appliance project where I need to read the current from the load. So I have purchased TLE4971 current sensor kit with programmer utility board.
I have programed the TLE4971(Current sensor) by using the programmer kit(XENSIV™ - TLI4971, TLE4972 current sensor programmer utility board).
I have connected the TLE4971 kit with my programmer board by using flex cable and I am able to configure and read the correct value of current from the sensor in GUI application as well as in firmware.
My configurations are: Mode: Single ended mode, Vref:1.65V, OCD1 and OCD2 both are disable and measurement range is 25A. Please note that I have perform the store operation in EEPROM by using GUI application. And on next boot I am able to read the previous configuration data.
So now I want to directly connect my current sensor with PSOC62 board. I have connected Aout, Vref, VDD,GND and Vsense line with PSOC62 board and tried to read the ADC data from Aout pin.
But looks like I am not getting any output from current sensor. If I connect the current sensor with programmer board and start the GUI application and then connect the Aout, Vref, VDD, GND and Vsense pin with PSOC62 MCU then I am able to read the data in firmware.
So is there any sequence to follow before reading the current data from TLI4971 sensor?(After configuration from GUI application). I have already gone through the programming guide and user manual but looks like our GUI application is performing the initial configuration like selecting mode/configure vref/Set measurement range etc. So Do I need to perform any SICI operation while reading the Aout(Actual current sensor value)?Show Less

I would like to to a DFMEDA and need the FIT Rate of TLE4972 current sense device. Where can I find the FIT report for this?
The sensitivity settings and full-scale output voltage range define the maximum difference in magnetic flux we can measure between the two hall elements. What is not clear from the datasheet, is the maximum magnetic flux each hall element can experience without saturation or signal deterioration. Do you have this information available?Show Less
-> I have XENSIV magnetic current sensor programmer kit and TLI4971 evaluation board. I want to configure the current sensor by using GUI tool. So I have downloaded latest TLx4971 Current sensor Evaluation App from developer center launcher in windows PC. I have downloaded all required drivers.
-> I have connected programmer with current sensor kit using flex cable. And I have connected programmer with my PC by using USB. D1 LED is glowing in current sensor kit so PC is able to detect the COM port. Please find the attachment for same.

When using the software for the TLE4972 STD EVAL kit, the CUR SENSOR PROGRAMMER data pin (the one that goes to TLE4972 AOUT) drives what might well be correct voltages when not connected to the TLE4972. The voltages look like logic levels from Vdd to Vss with the timings described in the TLE4972 manual.
When connected to the TLE4972, the oscilloscope shows a sequence of spikes around Vdd/2 or 1.65V, as if a low impedance digital output is being driven into the low impedance TLE4972 analog output. Nothing is read or programmed.
TLE4972 needs to be driven into data mode by sending 0xABCD on the AOUT pin of the TLE4972. The TLE4972 AOUT pin is typically a low impedance output. It seems the CUR SENSOR PROGRAMMER is not able to drive the AOUT pin into data mode.
1) Does this description of the problem make sense at all? Can I provide better context?
2) Am I doing something wrong? What could that be?
3) How do I know the CUR SENSOR PROGRAMMER works? Maybe I need new firmware or...? Please helpShow Less

I see the data sheet for the programmer is dated 9/30/2022 so I realize they are new parts. We'd like to order at least the programmer soon and get the board design for the EVAL kit if they will take a while to stock.
