I'm working on a project were I need to measure or detect the waterlevel in an adjacent case where water is flowing. The intention is to create a pcb with a Capsense pattern and place is to wall of this case and use one of the Cypress MCU to do the algorithm. But I have no experience with this and don't know which MCU is best for this application.
We have a prototype that works with a STM32 MCU, but the accuracy is not good enough. That is why we want to switch to one of Cypress MCU.
- Which Cypress MCU is best for my project?
- What kind of pattern for the Capsense sensor is best for my application?
If needed I can provide the Capsense sensor design pattern we use at the moment.

I'm using Capsense. I want to tune my sensors. When I'm using smartsense then after touching the sensor I'm getting touch condition/switch on status for Capsense but when I go to manual tuning then in that case when I'm bringing my hand close to sensor and then touching it, Switch On status of capsense is not coming. Why is that? Why it's not happening in manual tuning but it is happening in smart tuning?Show Less
I'm using CapSense. I've implemented the EZI2C as well for sending CapSense data to CapSense tuner. After opening tuner When I touch my CapSense sensor it's showing very less rawcounts and Sometimes Rawcounts are not coming at all. Why it's happening? Can anyone please help me here?

I'm looking to use new capsense technology. Can I use it with kit-044? Can anyone please guide me about new capsense technology? How to use it psoc creator? I am not getting the option to change the technology.
Hi Infineon Team,
We are using CY8MBR3108 capsense IC with our Linux platform. For development purpose we configured/programmed one CY8MBR3108 using the EZ-Click Tool and the CY3280-MBR3 EVK Kit. With this we are able to configure the button as per our requirement and get the interrupt in our linux platform board.
We have taken this register settings from project header file and copied in our linux driver.
Now when we use the fresh CY8MBR3108 board and driver tries to configure the register settings over I2C. (This time no EZ-Click Tool and CY3280-MBR3 EVK Kit is involved)
However, with this setup we are not able to get any touch interrupt. We tried to read the register values that is configured, and they seem to be properly written to chip.
We tried with 2 fresh CY8MBR3108 boards, however both are not working. Only the one which is flashed using EZ-Click and CY3280-MBR3 EVK Kit is working properly.
Can you please help us on this ASAP? We are badly stuck in this.
I designed a board with a CY8CMBR3002 version with only one button used in GPO mode ( no I2C)
We made 2 batches that worked perfectly.
On the third one , capacitive key does not work.
Nothing in design has been changed since first PCB.
We exchanged the suspected 3002 with an old version and defective board works again.
The issue was reported on the initialy working board.
Same with whole boards where we could exchage this component.
So I think something has changed in this component.
Here are the markings :
* Works : CY8CMBR3002-SX 0197468
*Fails : CY8CMBR3002-SX 035715
We are stucked for deliveries with no solution.

I am using cy8mbr3108 capsense. I am using linux platform and using i2cdetect utility for detecting the touch sensor over I2C. I found that sometime it is able to detect the sensor and sometimes not. If I detect it too fast, then it is able to detect, otherwise not. I learned from datasheet that it is in deep sleep mode by default. It sends NACK before going it to ACTIVE state. So, need to perform address match again!! Any way of moving device out of deep sleep mode? How to avoid polling?
Another secondary question is , lets say the device is detected once and then going to write I2C register, at that time it might not be able to write as it will be in deep sleep right?
it seems like I'll be getting an Infineon based TSDZ2.
Has anyone managed to use a J-Link to flash/program/configure the stock firmware to support 52V?
If so, how? Are there any resources I'm not aware of? I can't seem to find anything.

We are planning to use CY8CMBR3108 Capsense for our Linux product. I came to know that we can do the configurations from the modus tool. However, for communication with application I would need to have Linux driver which will communicate with Capsense and fetch the data. This driver then provide the data to user application. I looked into it , but I didn't found any Linux driver support. Can anyone help me with whether we have such linux driver for Capsense or not?
I need some help how to start tuning with CY8CKIT-149 kit. I need to get demo working to put slider and buttons to glass overlay of 2mm thickness.
- Should i start with Auto-tuning or manual tuning? could you recommended documentation how to do tuning?
- Slider is placed to glass surface. Should i remove Acrylic overlay from slider(from dev kit)?
