First question asked Welcome!

Hello,

1) Where can I find the register TRM document for the obsolete CY8CMBR3145, 3150, 3155, or 3175? The family datasheet for these parts is very low on information.  What is their default I2C address?

2) EZ-Click SP2 does not support the CY8CMBR3145, 3150, 3155, or 3175.  Is there another similar tool for these obsolete parts?

3) Do the CY8CMBR3145, 3150, 3155, or 3175 require firmware to be programmed before working? I don't mean register configuration, do they require a .hex file programmed in first?

Hi @Dsal2021,

Firstly, CY8CMBR3145, 3150, 3155, 3175 parts are no longer manufactured and supported by Cypress. You might want to take a look at the following community forum thread: https://community.cypress.com/t5/Sensing-Technologies/ABOUT-CY8CMBR3145-LQXI-amp-CY8CMBR3108-LQXI/m-...

The obsolescence notice can be seen here: https://www.cypress.com/documentation/product-termination-notice-ptn/ptn183805a and we strictly do not recommend its usage. You may explore other MBR3 devices -- https://www.cypress.com/products/capsense-mbr3.

The address of the slave is 0x37 by default. This would be the same for all MBR3 devices. MBR3 devices are to be configured by I2C and there is no other additional requirement.

Regards,
Nikhil
