Hi,
we are doing an ble mesh application using CYBT-483056-02. In the Vendor Specific example it is possible to set the tx power (wiced_bt_mesh_core_adv_tx_power) in the range 0-4 (5 steps). How does these 5 steps map into tx power in dBm?
Best regards,
Niels

Hello @niels5750
Please find the test results from our HW team:
The following table lists CYBT-483056-02 “tx_power” with different “wiced_bt_mesh_core_adv_tx_power” value (0~4).
Application: Mesh_Snip_Vendor_Specific
wiced_bt_mesh_core_adv_tx_power |
0 |
1 |
2 |
3 |
4 |
Tx power (dBm) |
8 |
11 |
17 |
19 |
19 |
Note :
Please note that the value of TX power may be varied due to SMA connector soldering, cable loss difference, etc. 1-2 dB difference is reasonable.
Regards,
Anjana

Hello @niels5750 ,
For the API wiced_bt_mesh_core_adv_tx_power - 0 means minimum power and 4 is the max. Actual power table is on the controller.
The max tx power for this module is 20dBm - https://www.cypress.com/file/511686/download
The module uses CYW20719B2 module for which the minimum Tx power value is near to -22 dB . https://community.infineon.com/t5/Resource-Library/CYW20719B2-Product-Guide/ta-p/251238
Please let me know if it is critical for you to get the exact power table values.
Regards,
Anjana

Hi Anjana,
Thank you very much for your answer.
A relationship between dBm and wiced_bt_mesh_core_adv_tx_power setting would be nice to know, but frankly I just need to know which wiced_bt_mesh_core_adv_tx_power setting I can use and still comply to the ETSI norm here in Europe.
Best regards,
Niels Andersen
