Infineon has been actively supporting the Matter working group under the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) for quite some time. In that working group, several of today’s smart home market key ecosystem players are creating a fully interoperable set of smart home standards that should work across all those companies and smart home devices. Consumers and device makers alike will benefit from having a single set of standards for Smart Home devices.

Listen to the #MakeIoTwork podcast episode with @SteveHanna, who introduces us to the Matter project where he leads several security teams and therefore answers the following three questions:

  • What is the Matter project and how does it work?
  • What is Infineon's role in this project and how will consumers and manufacturers benefit from it?
  • When will the first devices be available?

Now, Infineon announced software support for the Matter standard. Many leading smart home products use Infineon’s AIROC™ Wi-Fi®, AIROC Bluetooth®, and PSoC™ 6 MCU products. In this regard, support for Matter in Infineon’s ModusToolbox™ Software and Tools is an important milestone for the adoption of the emerging standard and expected to accelerate the deployment of Matter products.
