What are the differences in usage and functionality between the two types of Memory Protection?

Could you be more specific in which two as there are many more protection schemes? 

Traps are per CPU that the CPU can take upon an exception.  The SPR_SPROT_RGNLAi can be used to control access from other masters that want to access the PSPR/DSPR of a particular CPU.
