Hello there,

We are designing a custom carrier board based on Aurix series TC397XX256F300SBD MCU. and we are referring to the Infineon-TriBoardManual_TC3X71-UserManual-v02_01-EN schematics and following exactly the schematics. 

In that we are having few doubts:

1. Can we left unconnected the below listed pins of MCU or it should be connected to GND, hence it is named as VSS,

AGBTTX_N/VSS 

AGBTERR/VSS

AGBTTX_P/VSS

AGBTCLK_P/VSS

AGBTCLK_N/VSS

2. In tri-board RTL8211F Phy chip is used, instead we are using KSZ9897RTXI-TR phy chip (RGMII is connected with the chip) in our custom carrier board. will the MCU be compatible with the KSZ9897RTXI-TR chip? 

3. Can Infineon support us with Config files / Header files / Library files to interface with KSZ9897RTXI-TR chip ?

-- I think it needs the developer to adjust the driver code which is based on the RTL8211F Phy chip by referring to the KSZ9897RTXI's datasheet.

Hi Sakthivel,

you are designing a board with one of the flagship controllers. Somewhere in the UM or TS it should be mentioned what to do with unused pins. With the RGMII support, it should be possible with TC39X B_STEP devices. But I am not sure with your KSZ9897RTXI-TR. Also not sure whether IFX have any information on that. But, maybe one important thing. Even if you follow the schematics from the TriBoard, you should always doublecheck the Port- names+numbers within the given symbols in the documentation. Just to be sure...
