Dear Sir,
I want to ask you some questions regarding wifi scanning.
Chip:CYW43455
1.Can CYW43455 support active scan and passive scan?
2.If it so, the four condition are can be set by wl command?
How to set it for 5G scan or 2.4G scan respectively?
a. 2.4G active scan +5G passive scan
b. 5G active scan+2.4G passive scan
c. 2.4G active scan +5G active scan
d. 2.4G passive scan +5G passive scan
3.Are detected SSIDs fixed number, after scanning result?
4.If We set a environment where are some AP:2.4GHz and some AP:5GHz,in the condition, will the SSID show 5GHz and 2.4GHz after scanning? Or only It gets SSID 5GHz or Only it get SSID 2.4GHz?I think 5GHz and 2.4GHz will be get at the same time,is right?

Hi @Bill_123 :
In generally, the number of scan results is decided by how many SSIDs have been discovered during the scan process.
This result is also related to the setting of scan parameters, like "scan_nprobes" and so on.
I've attached the wl command document, please refer to section 12 for the scan setting.
Best Regards,
Colin

Hi @Bill_123 :
Please check below reply:
1.Can CYW43455 support active scan and passive scan?
Answer: Yes.
2.If it so, the four condition are can be set by wl command?
How to set it for 5G scan or 2.4G scan respectively?
Answer:
wl band a/b /auto to change a for 5g or b for 2.4g, auto for both
wl passive to set current band as passive mode, default is active mode
wl scan
wl scanresults
3.Are detected SSIDs fixed number, after scanning result?
Answer: I'm not sure the number meaning. Does it mean the sequence of the scan results?
The scan results are listed by discovering sequence every time after sending scan command.
Answer: If the device's band is enabled both 5g and 2.4g, the scan results will show both 5g and 2.4g SSID.

Colin
