AIROC™ Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Bluetooth Combos Forum Discussions
Hi,
How to configure CYW54907 in CYW954907AEVAL1F for Current and RF measurements in different WLAN modes?
The user guide it is described to use wiced studio but on another query I got a response that you won't be supporting wiced studio but ModusToolBox.
But on trying to program the device in ModusToolBox(with example "Tester - Wi-Fi Bluetooth Console" ), I'm getting the below response, Thus not able to program the device.
My question here is what is the modification that I need to do on the board so that I can measure WLAN_VBAT and WLAN_VDDIO.
can you confirm the modification to be done for measuring WLAN_VBAT and WLAN_VDDIO currents?
Also how to configure the board in such a way that I can program/ give commands to the device to configure it in different WLAN modes like it does through some wl tool or anything.
Regards,
Arun
Show LessI followed the STM32 connectivity pack user guide to use the 1YN M.2 module with the evaluation board NUCLEO-H753ZI. I successfully tested BLE with the same evaluation board and module but when using the example code "wifi_bt_tester" to test WiFi for type - 1YN getting error as mentioned below:
Interface is not up/NULL and failed in function whd_deinit at line 193
Failed to initialize Wi-Fi

We have a custom hardware based on STM32MP1 along with Cypress43455 (IC: LBEE5HY1MW-230) and other peripherals. For our use case, we are using Yocto Linux and OpenSTLinux (arm-openstlinux_weston-linux-gnueabi-gcc), Kernel version 4.19.9. Kernel modules for the Cypress43455 have been backported from Linux version v5.4.18-2020_0402 (Firmware version: 7.45.206).
For Wi-Fi, we load the following Cypress Wi-Fi modules to the kernel:
compat.ko
cfg80211.ko
brcmutil.ko
brcmfmac.ko
Our board utilizes wlan0 interface for connectivity with the internet and also has a virtual network interface wlan1 (created using the "iw dev wlan0 interface add wlan1 type __ap" command with "ifconfig wlan1 $GATEWAY up") to provide host Wi-Fi.
On wlan0 (as STA), we use wpa_supplicant, initiated by "/usr/sbin/wpa_supplicant -B -i wlan0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf" along with "dhclient wlan0" for DHCP client initialization.
On wlan1 (as AP), we utilize hostapd, started with "hostapd /etc/hostapd.conf -B" along with "udhcpd /etc/udhcpd.conf".
The issue arises when the wlan0 interface experiences disruption/disconnection, causing wlan1 interface to be affected. Devices attempting to connect to the wlan1 interface fail to establish a connection, even after wlan1 has been brought up for some time. These devices' wpa_state remains as "SCANNING".
What could be the cause of this issue? How to overcome this? Appreciate any responses in advance.
Show LessHi,
I'm just wondering if the CYW43012 low power wifi can pass through from low power internal IP stack running on MCU fmac driver running on linux, i.e. we have the device it low power mode connected to wifi access point and remote service, on wake we want to start linux and hand over wifi connection state to linux driver.
Can this chip support a solution like this?

Show LessWe are using CYW43455 and occasionally we are seeing following log
ieee80211 phy0: brcmf_cfg80211_del_pmksa: Cache entry not found causes disconnect
Right after this log there's a notification about disconnect event from wpa_supplicant.
Can you please explain what this log means and hot it is related with disconnect event?
Thanks,
Bogdan

Hello,
I would like to contact you regarding our product that incorporates a Cypress CYW43455 chip. To meet the certification requirements for our product, the laboratory is requesting specific WiFi tests (WIFI 2.4 GHz):
Permanent TX:
- Channels 1 (2412 MHz) and 13 (2472 MHz)
- Modulation: IEEE 802.11b, DSSS modulation (1 Mbps rate)
- Target Power: Pmax
Permanent RX:
- Channels 1 (2412 MHz) and 13 (2472 MHz)
- Modulation: IEEE 802.11b
We can easily switch between channels using the chanspec command and configure the modulation mode to IEEE 802.11b. However, we are facing difficulties in establishing a permanent transmission (TX)/reception (RX) with the following command: sudo ./wl64 -i wlan0 pkteng_start A0:AB:1B:75:3A:82 tx 20 1500 0
. This command results in an error -28, indicating that the module is associated. Interestingly, even after using the sudo ./wl64 -i wlan0 disassoc
command, the module remains associated.
Could you please provide assistance with this issue?
Thank you in advance for your response.
Best regards,
Hi,
I understand following issue.
But I found the another issue of sample code (Wi-Fi onboarding with Bluetooth® LE) STM32 Connectivity Pack by Murata Type1LV.
When this sample code was executed by stand alone, BLE was not connected between iPhone and Type1LV.
Please let me know the cause of this issue.
1. iPhone application could not find Type1LV.
2. The following information (send failure) was insicated by serial communication application.
The emvironment information is following.
- Wifi module: Murata Type1LV (CYW43012)
- Evaluation board: STM32H747 DISCO Kit, muRata uSD-M2 Adapter Kit (rev B1), Embedded Artists 1LV M.2 Module
- Sample code: wifi_scan in STM32 expansion Pack 1.5.1
Best Regards,
Tsutsumi
