AIROC™ Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Bluetooth Combos Forum Discussions
- Do we have the ability to disable WPA and WEP since they have known security vulnerabilities and should not meet our security standards?
2. Can you confirm encryption key provisioning options, particularly availability of EAP-TLS?
3. If we are going to qualify this module, did the team explore changing to a wifi 6 module? Wifi 5 is quickly becoming outdated so wifi 6 would better position us to meet customer needs in the future.
4. Does this module support 802.11w?

Hi,
I'm using this chip on platform which is doing roaming frequently. The thing is that in fact of the frequency, the roaming time can be from 2 sec to 15 sec.
Did you know if on this chip we can send a blob.bin or something like it to configure the only used frequency. We want to reduce this roaming time as much as possible.
thank you 🙂
Hi Infineon Community,
Our required profiles are as follows.
a) A2DP - (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile).
b) HFP - (Hands-Free Profile).
Kindly clarify my below mentioned queries about CYW43XXX series chip sets.
- We are using CYW4343W, CYW43012 chipsets in our project. By data sheets of these two chipsets we came to know that CYW43012 supports both the profiles. But CYW4343W supports A2DP but no clarity on HFP. So, does it support HFP?
- Is A2DP independently used for calls? Or HFP is must be used for the calls?
- Both mentioned profiles are available in the which SDK and kindly mention the version.
- I wanted to connect CYW4343W, CYW43012 chipsets to my STM Microcontroller. So, how can these profiles be used or integrated?
- Apart from these chipsets are there any EDR/BLE/WI-FI combo chipsets available to use in our product to fulfil the requirements?
We are using Cypress chip CYW89359 for a Automotive - Digital Cockpit application. Can you help to share docs/details on how to port drivers of CYW89359 to Android10
Show LessHello Infineon Support,
Recently, my team has been working on a project where many sensors connect to a central device using BLE. We had already done testing on the CYBLE-416045-02 chip, which supports BT 5.0, for the sensors. We determined the throughput would be fast enough after adjusting the link layer payload size to fit a ~230 byte characteristic.
Our team then ordered a bunch of the CY8CPROTO-062-4343W boards for the central devices, since they can connect to multiple BLE servers, were said to support BT 5.1, and had Wi-Fi support.
After significant development, we came to testing the Bluetooth connections. It was immediately clear that the throughput was magnitudes slower that we had anticipated. The Bluetooth configurator in ModusToolbox for the CY8CPROTO-062-4343W didn't have the option to set the link layer size or 2 Mbps mode. By debugging with BTSpy we confirmed that the attribute was sent in 23 byte chunks, instead of the whole attribute in a single transaction.
After discovering these findings, I did some searching and found out I was not the first person to discover that this chip doesn't actually support Bluetooth 5.1. It is frustrating that after a year and a half, you still haven't removed the false advertising from the CYW4343W page claiming Bluetooth 5.1 support.
We have sunk a lot of time and money into developing this board. Our team needs to pivot quickly, and we would like to move to something similar to the CY8CPROTO-062-4343W but with BT 5.1 so that we can reuse most of our code.
I cannot discuss our project or requirements further in a public forum post, but I would like to have a meeting with someone technical at Infineon. We need to discuss our requirements and figure out if there is a part that will meet them. There doesn't seem to be a way to start a private technical case on your website, so please let me know how we start that process.
Best regards,
Cory
Show LessI have a question about 4373E.
Is it possible to turn Power Save Mode on / off in CYW4373e?
Best regards.
I have a question.
Is it possible to turn off ampdu for sending and receiving in CYW4373e?
Best regards.
Hi,
Noticed that there are 2 Android releases:
Android release based on brcmfmac: Cypress Android 10 Release [2021-01-14] - Infineon Developer Community
Android release based on AHD/bcmdhd: Infineon Android Release [2021-06-29] - Infineon Developer Community
My question is why two releases for Android? What's the difference? What AHD stands for?
Thanks,
Show LessHi,
We are testing WHD with Sterling-LWB5+ (CY4373E) and we have the following issue. In whd_wifi_on() country code setting fails and we get "Could not set Country code" error.
Tracing shows that whd_thread_func() puts the device to sleep (KSO disable) and takes the transceiver semaphore with timeout CY_RTOS_NEVER_TIMEOUT. After this point, the card interrupts are missed and there is no activity on the wifi task.
To test that the issue is with card interrupts when KSO is off, we have tested the following case. We used whd_ensure_wlan_bus_is_up() in the main task loop and set CY_RTOS_NEVER_TIMEOUT to, for example, 10ms so that we are periodically waking up the device. Then, the card interrupts are received and the country code setting succeeds. Also, whd_wifi_on() completes successfully. We have tested with WHD v2.0.0 and v1.94.0.
What could be the root cause for this issue and how could we mitigate it?
Thanks,
Nima
Show LessHello,
The CYW4373 landing page shows MODUS as the SDK and then has two partner modules. From what I understand, both modules are for Linux utilizing the i.mx6, i.mx8, etc.
Is it possible to use this device with an MCU? If so, will it work with a PSOC6 within MODUS? As well, is it possible to use Cortex M7 based MCU w/Free RTOS?
Thank you.
