Queries on Host subsystem QDID for CYW20704A2

Hello,

I am looking into CYW20704A2.

1. What is the difference between CYW20704 and CYW20706. Can you please share link for datasheet/specifications for CYW20704A2.
2. For certification related do I need to search as BCM20704 or CYW20704.
3. For CYW20704 I am seeing only controller subsystem with QDID 159590 but not Host subsystem. If WICED is the support stack then what is the Host subsystem QDID.

Hi Vishnu,

1-A: CYW20704 is a controller only chip. You can find the datasheet of CYW20704 here: https://www.cypress.com/documentation/datasheets/cyw20704-single-chip-bluetooth-transceiver-and-base...

2-A: You will need to look for CYW20704.

3-A: As CYW20704 is a controller only chip, it doesn't have a host QDID. You can use WICED Stack QDID (160340) or BSA (137661) QDID depending on the host you are using.

We need SPP (Server & Client) and HID device role profile support.

1) As per below link even HID is supported. Is this applicable even for CYW20704 chips.

2) Currently we are using iMX6ul host controller. Can you please suggest which Bluetooth stack can be used (WICED or BSA). Whether we can cross compile these stacks as iMX6ul is ARM core.

3) In WICED QDID I am not seeing HID where as in BSA its showing as depreciated. Whether are you planning to get new QDIDS with latest updates.

Hi Vishnu Beema,

CYW20704 supports HID. You can use BSA stack. 

I would suggest you to get in touch with FAE or Cypress Marketing team, they would help you more on CYW20704.
