There is a readily available RF Module using CYW20706. My application is a bluetooth microphone using bluetooth profile HSP, HFP, or A2DP. Is it possible to use the CYW20706 for this application?

If possible then please specify if it is possible to do it without an external MCU.

Hi @jlarkin,

Yes, all the profiles mentioned are supported by CYW20706A2. It is possible to do it without an external MCU. However, you need to note that this device doesn't have an internal flash memory for application code and therefore you need to use an external serial flash for holding the application code data. Otherwise, the data will be in RAM and it has to be loaded everytime when the device is reset using an external MCU.
