Hi

Can anyone suggest me with a magnetic sensor which can be used to measure the RPM of the motor in the industry.

I have found a part no TLV493D-A1B6 is it a consumer grade or an industrial grade.

Can I use this for measuring RPM of the motor.

Regards

Nirmith

Hi Nirmith:

TLV - CONSUMER
TLI - INDUSTRIAL
TLE - AUTOMOTIVE

so TLV493D-A1B6 is a consumer grade by operating temperature range from -40°C to 125°C  and ISO26262 ready.

You can use this for measuring RPM of the motor.

Hi Wang

Do you have any application notes regarding the above part no TLV493D-A1B6 so that I can get information how to use it to measure the RPM of the motor.

Can you help me out with it or any application where it used to measure RPM.

Hi @Nirmith ,

TLV493D-A1B6 is a consumer grade 3D magnetic sensor. The three letters in the beginning indicate whether a sensor is consumer (TLV) , Industrial (TLI) or Automotive (TLE) grade.

Best regards,

Deepa

Hi Deepa

My application of the sensor is to use it in the industry and I need it to measure RPM of the motor can I use TLV493D-A1B6 as it supports the operating temperature -40 to 125°C. And do you have any application notes on how this sensor can be mounted and used for RPM measurement.

Hi

Thanks for the information but I need to go through the sensor in depth so that I can use it how I can mount and measure the RPM on the motor. so I need more data on this sensor.

Hi @Nirmith ,

What exactly do you mean by 'Bandwidth' in this context? If you are referring to the usable magnetic linear range, then it's  typically +- 130mT.

Deepa

Hi Nirmith:

Maybe your meaning of bandwidth is 0-1000KHz, but 400 kHz is I2C fast mode.

Hi @Nirmith ,

Please look at the user manual of the TLV493D-A1B6 sensor. You will find three different frequencies which could be used in the device:

Ananda_R_0-1659071289862.jpeg

According to the description 3.3kHz would be the fastest readout of sensor data but has the highest current consumption. This means in terms of bandwidth that the sensor can measure magnetic field changes up to 3.3kHz but if the change is faster then we could we will lose accuracy.

Regards,

Anand
